Any ideas on improving this party theme?

It sounds pretty "wow" already... I think you have excellent ideas and too much more is just going to give everyone a headache. The only thing you could possibly add to your already long laundry list of amazing things to do is bring in an actual fashion consultant or model. You could try calling the local fashion institute to see if they have anyone that would be willing to come to your party - maybe bring some samples of their work... or show you how a fashion designer gets started in the business....
